Volunteers collect 125 pounds of trash during international cleanup event

Volunteers make the world a better place. Thanks to the 31 people who collected more than 125 pounds of trash during the 2024 International Coastal Cleanup event held on Saturday. These wonderful people spent a beautiful morning scouring the north side of Sebastian Inlet, retrieving plastics, cans, cigarette butts and discarded monofilament and more.

For more than 35 years, the Ocean Conservancy has led the International Coastal Cleanup. Since its start, over 17 million volunteers have collected over 348 million pounds of trash. Indian River County annually participates in the International Coastal Cleanup to ensure our waterways remain pristine and healthy for the beautiful life that inhabits them.

A big thanks to our partners: Sebastian Inlet State Park and Coastal Connections, Inc. https://coastal-connections.salsalabs.org/2024.../index.html
