Week of April 26: Flurry of Pompano

Today’s forecast calls for clear, sunny skies and a high of 81 with winds out of the NE at 10 miles per hour with some gusty winds coming through mid-week. The seas are 3 to 4 feet and there is a moderate chop on the intracoastal waters.

Tommy at Sebastian Inlet Bait & Tackle tells us that he’s seen better fishing at the Inlet. As usual, there are a lot of snook coming over the rails, some red drum, Spanish mackerel, bluefish, and jacks. Early last week there were a flurry of pompano that came in, but the weather change mid-week slowed most anglers.

Tommy also said that most anglers have been catching with live shrimp, so stop in the bait shop to get yours if you are looking for a catch.

Our featured angler of the week is Rochelle Pollock. She fishes the Inlet often and brought up this kingfish on a greenie.
